Description

1832A French 5 Francs (90% Silver)

This silver coin, minted between 1832 and 1843, features the right-facing portrait of Louis Philippe I, slightly fuller compared to the 1844 version. It bears the inscription DOMARD.F. The reverse side displays the coin's value and date within a wreath.

1832 marks the first year of issuance for this silver coin, with various varieties (engraved on the back below), including A, B, BB, D, H, I, K, L, M, MA, Q, T, W, totaling 13 varieties. The one being sold this time is the A variety, weighing 25 grams, with a diameter of 37 mm and a thickness of 2.33 mm. It contains 90% silver, The edge of the coin is inscribed with the phrase means "God protect la France". The coin is with some minor dents on the edge, and is considered to be in average condition. The A variety is the most common variety for 1832, representing around 10% of the total quantity minted in that year.
