1838B French 5 Francs (90% Silver)
This silver coin, minted between 1832 and 1843, features the right-facing portrait of Louis Philippe I, with a slightly fuller face compared to the 1844 version, bearing the inscription DOMARD.F. The reverse side displays the coin's value and date within a wreath.
In 1838, there were several different varieties (engraved on the back below), including A, B, BB, D, K, MA, and W, totaling 7 varieties. The one being sold this time is the B variety, weighing 25 grams, with a diameter of 37 mm and a thickness of 2.33 mm. It contains 90% silver, and the edge of the silver coin is inscribed with the meaning "God Protect la France".
