1973 Germany 5 Mark coin, Frankfurt National Assembly 125th Anniversary (62.5% Silver)
This German 5 Mark coin was issued in 1973 to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the convening of the Frankfurt National Assembly on May 18, 1848. It is composed of 62.5% silver and weighs 11.2 grams. There is oxidation on the bottom right edge. Please do not purchase if this is a concern.
The 5 Mark commemorative coins of Germany were issued in 43 designs from 1952 to 1986. The coins from the initial years were made of 625 silver, but starting from 1979, they were issued in copper-nickel alloy. All versions were released in uncirculated standard quality (st, vz-st) and proof (PP), with the proof versions of the first four designs having mintages of only 1,200 to 2,000 pieces.
