2002-14 Desert Plants First Edition, Set of 5

Date of issue: 29 Jun 2002

Each set of stamps consists of 4 pieces, with a face value of 4.40 Chinese Yuan per set, making the total face value of the complete set 22 Chinese Yuan. The stamps have no yellowing (see image) but have minor bends (see image). The complete set is available for sale.

Stamp Introduction:

Deserts occupy 20% of China's land area and continue to expand. Long-term desert control practices have taught people that protecting desert plants and vegetation is a fundamental prerequisite for desert control. The four types of desert plants depicted on the stamps represent excellent sand-fixing plants commonly found in various desert habitats. Among them, the Chinese Tamarisk is the only evergreen broadleaf shrub in China's deserts and is currently classified as an endangered plant under key protection in China.
